We will be having greek meatballs with spanikopita, tzatziki, and Greek new potatoes.

Craig is also busy starting a meal for later in the week, a new recipe, b/s chicken thighs stuffed with Italian sausage and whatever else he is using, braised in chianti, served over polenta. More to come on that!

I had a bit of the roast pork with some of the onions atop, and an ear of corn.
There was mash and soft rolls too, but I'm still watching it for a day or so.
I'll have a cup of rainbow sherbet later.

Change of plans, we ended up with craig's stuffed chianti braised chicken thighs. I made the polenta.

That corn looks beautiful. Glad your tummy is feeling better.

Our plans changed. DD decided to order Chicken Almond Ding and Pork fried rice for dinner.

Mega pizza with lots of pepperoni and fresh mozzarella.
Notice my little helper watching the progress.

Delightful and cheesy.
Sure hope my stomach doesn't protest later.
Don't think it will.

Looks like leftover pizza for lunch.
Not much left, so maybe a small salad too.

Dinner is the question of the hour.

I love my mom's waffle maker. It's very old and starting to show wear. I don't think I will be able to find another like it. Last night we had breakfast for dinner.

Oh those look great, Peeps.
When the waffle maker gives up the ghost, start looking on one of the places that sell older items like that.
I'd have a hard time parting with it.
Lots of people buy waffle irons and never use them.

Thank you Sass. Where would I look for an older model? I think this is a WearEver but not sure.

We make waffles often. Usually for dinner. DD loves corn and bacon waffles. I use buttermilk this time but whey makes a lighter, fluffier waffle and has all those health benefits like probiotics.

BTW that is Mrs. Butterworth sugar free syrup tastes just as good as the regular.

Well, etsy or eBay may have something.
If not a new one is around $20 at Wal-Mart.
Maybe not that brand though.
It's a classic.:D

I had an old waffle iron hand-me-down. it was probably near 50 years old when it gave up the ghost.

since then I've had three new ones. they just don't make 'em like they used to.

not sure I'd buy an old one used - the old one we had was equipped with a fabric braid on the cord and a plug; in use the plug started getting so hot you could not touch it - a fire about to happen.... the heating elements are typically not replaceable / removable / accessible - the elements oxidize / corrode over time whether it's used or not.

if it's cheapcheapcheap it may be worth taking the chance - you can rewire the 'externals' but when the heating elements go, it's toast.

My Grandmother had a big old Toastmaster.
It was shiny and silver, had the thick black cord with red threads running through it.
Ahhh memories.

Meals look terrific folks, as usual!

Beautiful evening tonight so we grilled pork tenderloins, mini peppers and onions. I added some roasted kabocha squash.

Delicious!

Dizzy Pig's "Raging River" rub is one of my all-time favorite commercial rubs. The owner of the company, Chris Capell, is one of the nicest people I've ever known, too!

Nothing outstanding for dinner tonight.
Grilled Krechmar deli beef and Swiss sandwiches, and Ruffles chips.
I'll have some ice cream later.

I made a skillet of scrambled eggs for breakfast- we had bakery banana nut muffins too.
I'll stop and get a salad on the way to see my patients. Generally I eat in the car along Pontiac Park because the view is so darn beautiful.

Dinner Ali is planning biscuits and gravy- possibly with peas or peas w/ pearl onions.

Mmmm that honey might make me like cornbread, although yours does look nice and moist to begin with, Peep.

Thank you Lee. It was really good. I used buttermilk in the cornbread recipe this time. It came out nice and moist. Trader Joe's Creamed Honey is really good. I also like it on grapefruit halves and biscuits.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breakfast was a Brown Cow Coffee yogurt.
Lunch was Mother Goose Liverwurst on a mini Portuguese roll.
Have no clue what's for dinner.
Nancy thought some fireweed honey from a local producer while at the spring fair Sunday. I've yet to try it but will with tea this afternoon.
I made scrambled eggs and corn beef for breakfast and will make sloppy joes with baked potatoes for tonight.
