I'm going to use some wonton wrappers to make some spinach/cheese ravioli. Hope this works out.

It's nice to see him cook with cast iron on the grill. I've gotten away from that. Pork steak over the coals can't be beat either. The first time I had that was at a Oktoberfest dinner and will do that next month for the family Oktoberfest get together.

Lucky, those squash medallions are a new dish to me.

Would you please start a thread of their own and post the recipe with your photos, when you have the chance?

I want to make them!

Mussels with ouzo as an appy. I liked the recipe we used better than Carraba's and it was a heck of a lot easier. Main was braised lamb shanks with carrots, celery, and potatoes.

I love red beans and rice with sweet potato mixed in.
Just may make that for dinner this evening.
I've got Vigo and Zatarain's in the cupboard!

time to time we can get USDA Choice beef tenderloin - little packages - it's expensive but for two we only need like .6 lbs....

these pcs have been trimmed:

and I do mine rare - it's good beef - just melts on the fork

Zatarains has been a favorite short-cut of mine for years !

Mine too, but I used the Vigo bag tonight, with sliced beer brats and the sweet potato.
The combination of the smoky flavour from Vigo brand compliments the sweets.

Thank you Lee. Was really good. It is wonderful that I can make Carnitas (or pot roast and corned beef for that matter) so quickly using the Instant Pot. No more baby sitting a simmering pot on the stove or pot in the oven.

Hot dogs, sauerkraut and beans will be for dinner.

I just made lime curd. And I am also making yogurt.

My bud in Iowa had okra on so made a gumbo using fresh catfish and 4 bull frog legs from his frog pond - wish I was with him.

I fried up a bait of bacon in the #9 Griswold tonight - it started out as her request for BLT's but we aren't eating bread so it was more like a salad. I added sweet onions and cherry tomatoes and used up the last of the caesar salad dressing and it was excellent. She'd made a mistake in ordering the Keller bacon and got the one with organic maple syrup. After two months of no sugar, the bacon was almost to sweet.

So...........

Yesterday, I found this in the market....

IMG_4390.jpg

combination of squid, clams, blue mussels, clam meat, mussel meat and shrimp.....

Following directions, I found that cooking that varied a selection, going into the Wok frozen, no less, meant that uneven cooling was gonna happen.
.... and it did !

That being said, the dish was adequate, 'tho I don't know what I'm gonna do with the second Pkg...

I guess this is the Poor Man's Pasta ai Frutti de Mare .......

Linguini with Seafood.jpg

... and I gotta have my greens !

Salad, Parmesan.jpg

LT, be careful with packages like that and don't depend on them actually being usable for your dinner, i.e. have a back-up plan. We got a couple of similar packages at a reputable market, brought them straight home, into freezer, thawed 1 out a week or so later and, whooo, ammonia was all we could smell. Didn't even bother thawing the other package, just tossed it.
