Zippy Wormgear Pasta Dinner

2 c. uncooked spiral pasta
3/4 lb fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 sweet yellow pepper, julienned
1 TBL extra-virgin olive oil (or canola oil)
3-4 cups diced tomatoes w/ diced Green Chilis (Del Monte)
6 oz cooked ham, cubed to bite-size
(have the deli slice it to 3/8" for easier cubing)
1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
salt to taste (1/2 tsp)
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp dried pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 c. shredded parmesan cheese

Cook pasta according to directions on box.......

Meanwhile, in a large, non-stick skillet, saute the asparagus and pepper in oil until tender. Add tomatoes and ham. Heat through...
In a small bowl, mix together the 6 seasoning ingredients.

Drain pasta well; Add to the vegetables and blend.

Stir in the seasoning mix.
Transfer to a heated serving dish.
Sprinkle with the parmesan and serve
OR
Offer the shredded parmesan in it's own dish, to be sprinkled on the
individual servings by each guest.
