DW has an ancestor born 1847 in Moravia in a city "Pirasba"
we've been unable to turn up any city by that name - there are a few issues...


1 - depending on who won which war of the many wars . . . the area was part of many different countries....


2 - it's likely an 19th century American-English ear interpreting a Czech name, with phonetic spelling thrown in for good measure.


3 - the Czech alphabet does not align real well with the English alphabet....


he came to America, married, etc. buried in Abbeville, SC

DW is named after his daughter, our youngest is also so named.


for example, I have a list of all the Czech cities. there's no "Py..."
and the "Pi..." entries don't look promising.
