recipe from the pre-1970's from a German friend
the dough is distinctly Germanische - methinks the secret is the vanilla sugar. we got real Madagascar beans (Amazon, Swedish brand) - using artificial vanilla seems like . . . why bother?

used the KA with whisk
cream together
75 g granulated sugar
75 g butter or margarine
add
fat tablespoon of vanilla sugar
two large eggs
vigorous mix until foamy
prepare 150 g AP flour
1 pinch salt
1 tsp baking powder
add to egg/sugar mixture in batches
you can get about 1/2 the flour in before needed to stop with the KA whisk and switch to a wooden spoon
when incorporated add in 2 tablespoons / 30 ml milk
blend thoroughly
spread batter evenly into a greased 9-10" springform pan
for apple kuchen -
place sliced apples on top - 3-4 apples required
sprinkle with 50-75 g raisins
brush with heated&thined, as needed, 3 tablespoons of apricot jam
bake 45 minutes at 355'F
note: I usually extend the baking time - reducing oven to 300'F to ensure it's baked through
looks like
for peachified - I used canned peaches, no other toppings
