Dinner will be crab cakes, herbed brown rice... and probably just an iceberg/tomato salad.

I've decided to go with Marie Rose sauce instead of remoulade for the crab cakes.
Reason being, it's far less complicated and I like MR sauce in shrimp cocktails figuring it'd be fab on crab.

Are you gonna make the long version, or just Ketchup and Mayo ?

About these crab cakes..
While they are small-ish! they are easily made larger via gently pressing in the fry pan during cooking.
They are to be prepared after thawing- not from frozen.

I give them a huge thumbs up!
Delicious, all the expected flavour is there.
I'll buy them again.

Today will be lots of tea, rest and soup.
Woke up chilled with a temp, starting to feel the congestion coming on.
Bahh!

That looks gooood, Lucky.
I'm probably going to make Campbell's ham and bean soup later.
Maybe a grilled cheese too.

Brought this home back in March, I think.. the Warden put the kibosh on it right away..... working to clear a shelf in the big freezer, I thought, what the heck ! Let's see if this will fly ........

Baked Trout, White Rice and Vegetable Medly, a Seafood salad made with Surimi, chopped Shrimp, shaved Celery, Minced Onion and Baby Bell Pepper... a little too heavy-handed with the Mayo......
Sauce is a simple Tartar....

It was fun to prepare....... the fish was cleaned and sectioned when I bought it, but the bones made for somewhat difficult feed...... Not sure I'd do it again.....

nice fish - indeed the technique would leave one with a bone to pick... trout has a lot of little ones.

I have not a clue about dinner this evening.
DIL has this head cold from hell now as well.
I'm thinking more soup or something easy.
I made the egg flatbreads for breakfast which neither of us could taste. :twak:
Grrr

This afternoon, I tackle this ..........
I used to buy all my meats at the Amish Market, but their steadily rising prices have kept me away, except for Oxtail and Rabbits.....
(Six Bucks per # for the Oxtail, 8 Bucks a # for Rabbit...)

Needless to say, I froze half, will do something in a stew later on down in the winter...

Thanks medtran.
Wow Lucky, that's some seafood dinner!

I feel better today, and can actually taste.
It's more soup for lunch.
Maybe I'll make meatloaf for dinner.

Lunch-
More of the chicken n dumplings soup.
Aimee made some corn cakes to go with using masa harina.
These are very grainy, not at all sweet, but delicious.

I don't know why, but my meatloaf came out a little stiff this time.
It's never the same no matter how many times I've made it in my life.
Still good.
More ketchup added at the table, Mabel.
LOL
