This was a hastily thrown together concoction of maple sausage, shredded potatoes, onion, and shredded cheddar.

Not too pretty, but was mighty good.
We had cream filled long john's and coffee prior.

Yesterday we went to Din Tai Fung and had an array of Taiwanese dumplings and veg. It was all good.

Nothing wrong with those! Please pass the Red Rooster.

This afternoon I'm grilling a huge piece of spring salmon from last summer - the last of it.

I need to book a trip soon.

See?
I had another piece of cake.
The cookie bottom crust stuck to the spatula.

Craig made tasso pasta, which is julienned tasso ham, carrots, green and yellow squash, onions, a bit of minced garlic in a parm/cream sauce over pasta. It's a variation of a Paul Prudhomme recipe and a favorite.

We're eating Brit tonight.
Baked beans and scrambled egg on hearty toast.
Sure wish we had some Lincolnshire sausages.

They give a nice lemony punch. We had made some and used them a couple of years back but never did it again for some reason even though we liked the dishes. The new cookbook though has a lot of recipes with preserved lemons so I made them again, though the recipe I used this time had a bit of sugar added, which I think I like better than the previous because there is less of a bitter taste from what I remember.

Can you share the recipe for the preserved lemons with the sugar? Thank you in advance.

That looks marvelous, Lucky.
I like real food simply plated, only yours always looks comforting.

As far as I know, it may be a chicken stir fry for dinner or meatloaf.
Nothing is written in stone, howevah..

In the process - meatloaf, tater tots (I wanted to do hasselbacks in garlic butter and herbs, but that got shot down) and rainbow baby carrots.

All put in at different times.

Pics later.

a cold shrimp pasta salad - this was really yummy but it has lots of ingredients and knife prep. note also the recipe starts with one pound of shrimp and one pound of pasta - break out your big bowl spoons! I cut it in half and it's about three meals for two.... see the note about the salad dressing and spices - I used a thick buttermilk ranch and omitted the seasoning mix for the first eating as sometimes that stuff can be super strong....

There is a very subtle difference in the flavour.
Raw and cooked.
Next time I'll put them in with a Sunday roast and onions.

I’ll have to look for them. Maybe Trader Joe’s has them. They have the multi colored potatoes.
