I've got 3 of my young STNA's who've asked me to hang around while they get tested because they are frightened.
I told them there is nothing to be afraid of.
And yes, I'll be there for them.
I'm going in a.m. pronto on Thursday.

If they’re worried about this what happens when the GI Doc wants to do a colonoscopy? Slightly more invasive!

Lol
Indeed.
These are young, YOUNG girls jim.
I love them like my own kids.
I find it lovely that they want me to be there for them.
Always am, why not for this?
Told them to be up and present in the facility early doors.
All agreed.

I'm wishing you and your chickens good luck for tomorrow's testing!

I understand the chicken thing. I'm still chicken even at my old age :chicken:.

I'm interested to hear about your experience. From what I've read, it's a tad uncomfortable.

Thank you Spc. Valentine US Army National Guard for the kind and gentle testing.
2 cm up each nostril/ 10 seconds each in a swab swirl.
Eyes watering like a sonofa*****.
Results in 24-48 hours.

Thanks for the update, Sass. I hope the young girls fared as well as you.
That's a pretty quick turnaround.

They did!

It's necessary that we get the testing over in the healthcare facilities.
I'm hoping they're doing the same in all states.

So the covid testing results are beginning to trickle back into our facility.
So far 34 have come back negative.
I fully expect mine will as well.

:applause::applause::applause:

I'm happy for you too.

I need to pay more attention. I just looked at the positives on that attachment. I hope that's a joke.

I just watched the news and it kind of got my panties in a wad.

I don't understand why so many people have a problem with wearing a facial mask in public.

With so many people out of work, I do understand why they may not have the extra money to purchase a mask. If I had to choose between buying food/gas/etc for my family and purchasing some masks, I'd choose food/gas/etc.

There has to be a way to provide the people who can't afford to buy them with free masks. I don't know how, but there has to be a way. Those masks are not cheap, and usually you have to buy a good size quantity.

I have 6 cloth masks. Just wash them, spray with disinfectant or hang in the sun.

Some group should make and provide cloth masks for free to people who need them.

Great idea! I can sew and would be willing to help with something like that. It's not like I don't have time :).

They could just provide some in every box through the food bank distribution. The news has shown videos of the lines of cars going through to get free food, and it's astounding how long the lines are.

Many of the grocery stores and retailers around here are starting a policy of "no mask/no enter."

Looks like some places are being highly encouraged, if not mandated by Dear DeWine that we wear masks in public.... again!
Just when we were getting into restart Ohio, it's two steps back.

We are continuing wearing masks at work, even though we've been found to be covid free.
How long that's going to go on is anyone's guess.

I've got cotton masks now that are washable and stretchy, like cotton t-shirt fabric.
I'll wear those under the disposable ones.
Grrr
Lol

People . . .
Cute meme lol
That seems to be the best advice, Jim.
Everyone in the world has an opinion on covid, many are frightened, some don't care.
The world is going crazy over a virus.
There is no fear here.
That isn't because I am a nurse or brave.
It's because there are specific things behind all things virus.
Adhere to the science, follow it, listen to your state reps, be wise....
Repeating... be wise.
Be smart.
Be healthy.

Covid test #2.
Also negative!
It was necessary to get retested this past Wednesday because I was having symptoms that are "cold" related.

Tomorrow was on anyway.
I told them I'm coming in full of cold meds and hope I make it through the day without coughing, which is still lingering.
8 hours tomorrow, 4 on Sunday.

We have had our first asymptomatic, positive covid testing with a staff member.
This could be a false positive, or the person has antibodies present/-antigen response.
In any case, we have now moved to N95 masks, which I hate.
They're much easier to breathe with, but after a while they prove to make your face hotter.
Also, testing is now to be done every 10-14 days.
Yay.. just what I'm looking forward to.
Having my brain picked with that damn swab again.

I get this comment now. I watched another Q&A live segment with Dr. Ed Dominguez.

He pointed to show just how far up into your nose that the swab has to go to be an effective test. At first he said, "it hurts" but then backtracked and said, "it's very uncomfortable" to the point of having some tears. I was thinking....okay, that's my definition of crying.

I'm sorry you have to go through all that.

Thank you Cooksie.
I'm afraid it's very necessary, although I do not like it one bit.
If any of you all have to get tested, just know it only takes 10 seconds to swab each nostril.
Also know it IS very uncomfortable.
I found it to be annoying more than painful.
