Warning: This is beyond gross and disgusting

"AUCKLAND, New Zealand (CNN) - Fair warning: This story is disgusting.
It may sound like an urban legend that a cockroach can get stuck in your ear, but it happened to a New Zealand man.
Zane Wedding, 40, first noticed his ear was blocked after swimming in a public pool.

He went to the doctor the next day, and was told it was just water. He followed the advice he was given to blow hot air from a hair dryer in his ear.

Wedding said he could still hear water moving in his ear, so he booked an appointment with a specialist a few days later.
That doctor could tell immediately there was a bug in his ear canal.

The cockroach was dead at that point, and the doctor got it out in less than five minutes.

Wedding said he was grossed out when he realized that water he heard in his ear was the roach moving around, and blowing hot air in his ear was cooking the insect."

I took this photo yesterday (and reduced to fit the screen), of a huge tree in the Botanical Garden. Name of the tree is Sloanea Javanica Tiliaceae Java. You can see the roots of the tree coming up like fins, and the photo doesn't show all of them. It expands to several meters outside the photo too. You can see some of them in the foreground of the photo.

Our side trip through the mountains and back country of Oregon Wed. was scenic, just took forever. A normal drive from home to Park City is 13 hours. We split it in two now. Our drive from home to Nampa, ID was13 hours due to that big wreak, with a fatality, on 1-84.

Last night we went to Trincomalee via Habarana jungle. Saw many wild elephants crossing the road (or shambling along the road) some in herds and some alone. I took a few photos with my phone but they are not clear. Also I didn't want to disturb them by getting too close to them, at least the night should be theirs alone.

And we ate egg roti with beef curry and fish curry from a small roadside shop. Here's a photo of egg roti. They were hot. In the photo are also beef and fish roti.
