BEEF STROGANOFF

1/4 C. minced onion
1/2 C. butter
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 lb. round steak, bias-sliced into thin 2-inch strips
2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 Tbl. tomato paste
1/2 C. consommé
1/2 C. dairy sour cream
1/2 C. Marsala
3 Tbsp. DRY sherry

Saute onions in butter for 10 minutes. Add mushrooms. Cover & cook for 5 minutes.
Remove onions and mushrooms. Brown meat over low heat, then blend in flour in
same pan. Add seasonings, onions, mushrooms, tomato paste, consommé, wine.
Simmer gently for 1 hour, until meat is tender. Just before serving, stir in Sherry, and sour cream, but don't boil. Serve with wide noodles.
