Jennie-O turkey

the theory was to buy a turkey breast. our Giant has the complete "two breasts" package - $25, umpteen pounds - just not a realistic buy for us.

so I picked up a Jennie-O oven to freezer boneless roast - thingie in a roasting bag etc etc

estimate was 1 hour 40 minutes at 375'F - this is what it looked like:

the gravy was horrible - absolutely inedible. fortunately had the presence of mind to spoon taste it in the pot before putting it on the dish - just tossed it.

wound up slicing off and roasting a couple thick slabs on a rack - the pix was taken at two hours roasting time.

exterior was tough and stringy - the meat was passable if you cut off all the exterior.

in short - $12 poorly spent; do not go there.....

Ewwww!
Yes, I've seen those along with the whole turkey.
Is there supposed to be any thawing time at all before roasting?

Hmmmm...pass!
