WASHINGTON, March 17, 2015 – Alewel’s Country Meats, a Warrensburg, Mo. establishment, is recalling approximately 134 pounds of beef products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product was produced using the wrong inspection legend.
The Buffalo Jerky items have a “Use By” date of “06-12-15,” “05-11-15,” or “04-02-15”, with production dates of “12-11-14,” “11-11-14,” and “10-02-14.” The following products are subject to recall: [View Label]
The problem was discovered during verification activities by FSIS personnel.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify theircustomers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
