1 cup chopped onion

1 green pepper cut into strips

3 TBS. margarine

1 & 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1 tsp. seasoned salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

1 Quart or 28oz. can stewed tomatoes cut up

(If you like a more zesty flavor-use Rotel)

1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce

2 cups water

8 oz. uncooked wide noodles

8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese

In dutch oven, sauté onion & pepper in margarine for 3 minutes. Add

ground beef and brown meat, breaking up meat with spoon as it cooks.

Add seasoned salt and pepper. Stir in tomatoes, tomato

sauce and water. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

In a 13x9x2" dish, put noodles in the bottom, then cover with tomato mixture. Top with cheese, making sure noodles are well covered by the sauce. Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven (350degrees).
Bake for 45 minutes. Cut and serve as you would lasagna.

My mom and grandma made this with elbow macaroni but it never went in the oven. And, they used parmesan cheese instead of mozzarella. Eventually, they left out the green pepper because I couldn't eat it but--I grew up eating this, too. lol
