Hyancinth Beans

Since I couldn't get Scarlet Runner Bean seeds this year, I found something called Hyancinth Beans and tried them.

I grew them primarily to attract hummingbirds to their flowers (hummingbird ignored the flowers in favor of the nectar in the feeder), but I picked some beans, removed the strings, steamed them and served with butter, salt and pepper.

Not bad!

Looks interesting. I might like to try them in my garden if I could find seeds from somewhere.
