WASHINGTON, March 31, 2011 -Wayne Farms, a Decatur, Ala., establishment is recalling approximately 53,210 pounds of frozen, breaded, fully cooked Italian-style chicken breast fillet products because they contain an undeclared allergen, egg, which is not noted on the label. Egg is a known allergen.
The products subject to recall include:
Individual packages bear the establishment number "P-33885" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The product case label would also contain one of the following code numbers: B13464, 13464 or 20947 in large bold print. The products were produced between Aug. 3, 2010 and Nov. 13, 2010 and were shipped for foodservice use nationwide and to distribution centers in New Jersey and Massachusetts.
The problem was discovered March 29, 2011 by a company representative during a label review at the establishment, and may have occurred because of a label change at the establishment. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
