I'm not sure when we will get back to Park City, maybe fall.
That mess looks human made to me. I hear the dog is laid
back.
If it is not human made ....or just to be safe, you really want to crate the pup till at least a year old. I've had two danes and learned the hard way. I was told the same thing, but thought she was very well behaved and would be okay for 30 minutes loose in the house. WRONG. What a mess we came home to. Tore the back upholstery off the couch by pulling on one loose part and ripped it completely off. Tore one of her toys up and shook it so that the floor appeared to be covered with snow when we walked in. One rug was tore up. She was just playing and having a ball but .....what a mess.
I've seen pics at the Dane forum (danes online I think is the name) where pups tore up wood window frames and doors, Kitchen cabinets etc. They are so sweet and normally well behaved but left alone, beware. Best wishes to your son and his new companion.
