BRAISED BROCCOLI

4 cups broccoli florets
1 cup broccoli stalks, peeled, sliced
(florets and stalks from 2 bunches)
1 large onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon Tamari soy sauce
1 tablespoon sweet sherry, (or mirin)
3/4 teaspoon olive oil

To prep the broccoli:
cut off the florets, peel the stalks, and dice the stalks.

Heat large skillet on medium to medium-high heat and add oil.
Saute onion for a few minutes, then add the diced broccoli stalks
Cook until the onion starts to brown (about 8 minutes).
Add the florets and cook a few more minutes.
Add garlic, and cook another few minutes. Add the soy sauce and sherry at end, and cook one minute more..

For a little color....... Add some thinly sliced carrots with the onion.
