I used to be able to go to Reading Terminal Market
on my lunch breaks that was great... now sometimes I drive to Wegmans:shock:

in the summer Greensgrow is right in my neighborhood and have a nice farm stand... I thought about their CSA but it is a bit restrictive.. and allegedly the prissy NJ town where I work has a farmers market spring-fall

The Italian Market is pretty great but sort of out of the way

so for me lately it is Pathmark which sucks less than ShopRite or Thriftway or the countless low end "supermarkets" around

My neighbohood is pretty food deficient. Finally some restaurants are opening but we are still really short on food shopping

I love to browse through the big Asian grocery store in Tulsa, as well as a couple of the Mexican places. I always get strange looks ("Hey, there's a Gringo in here!"). I almost always see someone wearing Chef Whites at the Asian place.

Heck. One of my Mexican co-workers will readily admit that I can cook better Mexican than he can. But, I cannot out-cook his Momma or his Grandma. I don't want to outcook them. I want to be a student :)

have been looking at ads for the three or four mexican grocery stores here in town. many times there chicken and sea food are cheaper than the chain mkts. also offer more rare vegs . have wondered if i would feel strange, but don't think so. they also have mexican baked goods, some of which i really enjoy. there is a new one as large as the supermarkets here. transportaion is a problem, so may get my mexican handyman to take me. when he shows up that is. lol

Ohio is also famous for popcorn. Covered Bridge Gardens is one of many Ohio popcorn growers. At the Fabulous Food show they were selling blue and yellow popcorn on the cob. These ears can be popped in the microwave and come with bags to do so. Mr. Prochko was a very sweet man and was enjoying sharing his corn at the Food show.

Wow, this place looks beautiful--too bad St. Pete is so far from where I go when I head down South.

This is my favorite place for meat.

The farms are just down the road, not in some unknown location. The best beef and pork in the biz. Their hams are out of this world, and not very pricey. The steaks are a little pricey, but not bad if you catch them on sale.

This is a place to get great WI cheese. They are always stocked with award winners.

They have wonderful locally grown and organic produce too.

This winery is very popular in the area.

Their best seller is Prairie Fume' which is a light crisp slightly sweet white. It's yummy, and a consistent award winner! I also like their Riesling.
