Burger

1 onion
2 apples
1 tsp ground ginger
1 lb ground beef
2 tbs couscous
1 egg

Chop the onion and gently saute
Peel, core & chop the apples and add to the frying onions.
Stir in the ground ginger
Combine the ground beef, onions, apples, egg and couscous.
Shape into patties
Fry until cooked through (I overcooked mine as you can probably see)

Meanwhile, finely chop half a cabbage and parboil with sage.
Use a peeler to make carrot ribbons.
Melt some some butter in a pan, add the drained cabbage and carrot ribbons & simmer for 5 minutes.

Serve the burger on the cabbage & carrot mix.

I used a burger press to shape the patties. You make a ball, put the press over and push down - it compresses them and gives them a nice shape.

Thanks, Ray. I don't think I've ever seen one of those, let alone one that makes a nice thick patty. I'm going to look into this.
