Now, I'm sort of glad everything was shut down and I didn't get to go out for dinner. Got an e-mail today that these lovlies were on special for a limited time at a very, very reasonable price. Now, I have to decide what dish to start with.

Ohhhhh, now I see! What better gift to a foodie?! Congrats and Happy Belated Birthday!

Here's a photo I took in NYC at the Chelsea Market, 16 years ago.

Imagine ....

Those are both winter truffles. Summer truffles are MUCH more reasonable. Just in comparison though, we got a small white at Christmas. They were running just over $1000 pound at the time.

I've probably posted this before, but my dream, when I retired, was to travel to Europe, get a truffle dog, and hunt truffles.

Now that I'm retired, I'm thinking a more practical approach is to travel to Europe and go on truffle-hunts with guides. Still looking into doing that.
