Crock pot insert

At a church rummage sale yesterday,DIL bought this.
It's a Rival which is stamped on the bottom.
No lid came with it.
She has the idea that it can be used in the oven for roasting meats, making casseroles, etc.

Now I've Googled, Yahoo Answered among others.
Some say yes, you can use them in the oven.
As long as it goes in a cool oven that comes up to temp, and not over 350°.

Have any of you ever used one in the oven?

I've never used a Crock Pot insert in the oven. I've always used mine in the Crock Pot base. It is pretty much like an oven itself!! :piesmiley1::bonk:

Yeah I know.
She had the idea. Maybe it'll be useful for something else.
I can buy a crock pot for heavens sake.
