I'm making a dish with sauteed shrimp in bacon fat and asparagus.
Still making up a recipe in my head.
How about you all?

This was actually a dinner last week with Dad, but I didn't get around to posting it. I think.

Knockwurst, my homemade BBB's, my pickled onions, toasted brown bread.

I didn't know, but Mommy T had a piece of haddock thawing in the fridge.
Had it cooked in a butter sauce; with chopped tomatoes, and button mushrooms and onions. I used saltine crackers as a pusher.

I'll eat leftovers something or other today.
My next chances to cook this week are Wednesday and Friday.

Beef Wellington - long time no done.... this is half a tenderloin.
it's strictly a DIY dish as DW does not do the liver pate 'wrap'
combo1.jpg

it was very tender - DW says to nix the Christmas Prime Rib and redo the Beef Wellington....

We had our first really cold snap of the year, lows in high 40s, and that's COLD for here (don't laugh, we are in subtropics), so we each made our own version of chili.

Tomato Bisque Soup with crackers and cheese bites.
DD made stew with beef chuck. They ate that.
Just lowering the work on the stomach for a few days.

That looks wonderful, Chowder!
Very nice!

Since I was bird-less at Thanksgiving, I bought a small boneless turkey breast roast.
I'll make that for dinner.

Not sure what dinner will be. Beef stew/pot roast or strip steaks (sides TBDL).

So far, it seems like breaded fried thin steak cutlets. ( chicken fried steak ).
DW has a 2 pm dentist right next to Netcong ShopRight store. She will pick up some steak there on way home. Yummy!

I'm not too keen on this Jenny- O turkey breast roast.
It sure doesn't taste like it used to.
Stuffing on the side and Del Monte french style green beans with red peppers, onions and garlic.

I was always taught to waste not, want not.
But, the remains of this "turkey" is going right down the garbage disposal.
Too salty and the texture is spongy.

heehee. I managed to snarf a 9.xx turkey - so we had dinner, turkey-bean soup, sandwiches one lunch. there's a leg left that may wind up making the pup happy....

too many turkey leftovers is not a good thing!

I intend to make a real turkey around Christmas.
A real one, with skin, bones and stuff.

Gumbo from the freezer, gumbo z'herbes for me, Craig had his alligator seafood gumbo.

I started a pan of moussaka tonight. Got everything done but the bechemel, which I'll make tomorrow, as well as zatziki. I'm allergic to something in the peel, makes me itch like he//. So I had to peel the eggplant after roasting and frying it, then wash hands like crazy.

Not sure yet.
Maybe beef stew or pot roast.
If DD wants to order Chinese I will probably have the last strip steak & sides TBDL.
