Re: Green Tomato Salsa

I'm getting tired of dealing with green tomatoes and may have to compost the rest. Well of larger cherry tomatoes coming on, though. I'll make a tomato salade this weekend to go with a steak and...

Re: What's On the Table, Mable ?? Sunday 10/14 to Saturday 10/20

Yesterday afternoon/even I made cioppino. It looked prettier before I dumped the scallops and juice in the mix. The taste was excellent, though. I can't say the scallops added anything but more...

Re: What's On The Plates Mates Sunday September 30- Saturday October 6?

Tonight it's an Oktoberfest fund raiser at St. Charles Borromeo in UP. I'll have a brat and some potato salad but that's all... early walkup and on the road by 0500, I hope.

Re: Tiny Baby Miss Abbott - Safranek

We're headed to Utah, Sunday, to see the family. The instructions are we can't hold her all the time - she needs lots of play time on the floor to avoid getting to spoiled.

Re: What's On The Plates Mates Sunday September 30- Saturday October 6?

Amelia requested Red Robin for her birthday dinner. I had the fish and chips with two extra pieces. I have to admit theirs is better than Bob's.

Re: Steak and Guinness Stew

Last night the mrs said she'd do dinner and made Steak and Guinness Stew with gluten free dumplings. She used a recipe she found on the net and it came out pretty good. I'm ready to do it again.

In the Amana's they are called kassler rippchen and get them from their meat market. Hormel also has them and are quite good. It's Oktoberfest time and should get some.

Re: Araxi Corn Soup

Yes, for a special occasion, and I know what to expect. When mashing the slurry through the sieve it's nice to have an assistant do that.

Yesterday I made Araxi's Corn Soup with some very old spooner Farm's sweetcorn - the sweetcorn was old but very tasty. Making the corn cob broth was interesting and quite good.

I didn't get...

Re: What have you eaten NCT - Sunday 9/23/2018 to Saturday 9/29/2018?

We go to a German market in Lakewood, WA where they make brochen, pretzel rolls, sticks, pretzels, and all manner of German bread.

A kaiser roll will work.
